Portugal’s finance minister said Friday that the budget deficit will go over its goal of 4.3% of the GDP, according to Reuters.
The budget deficit last year was 5.7%, although that came in under the government’s estimate of 7.3%. In 2019, Portugal had its first surplus in at least four decades, according to Reuters — but it was just 0.1%.
