As a favorite park for outdoor movies in the spring, free jazz shows in the summer, and picnics in the fall, this fenced-in park in Estrela is exactly the kind of neighborhood park you’d expect it to be. Also known as Guerra Junqueiro Garden, the park hosts two lakes with ducks and talkative geese, as well as a cafe, a kiosk, a community library kiosk, a pretty radical playground, statues, chess tables, sueca-playing old men, and inviting private alcoves for the lovers out there. It’s a great place for a stroll around, or a nap under a tree, time permitting. Each month, it hosts a weekend artisan market with handmade crafts, wearables, antiques, and gift-able items, so be on the lookout.
