Koppu’s founders, after training in London and Japan, opened Koppu Ramen Concept in 2016 in Príncipe Real, and later expanded to open this spot on Rua Salitre in 2019.
Koppu Ramen + Izakaya offers the namesake noodles in an equal parts fancy and relaxed tavern-style setting, with plenty of options for carnivores and vegetarians, all made in-house from fresh traditional ingredients. If you’re not feeling noodly, there are also buns, sushi combos, and more. We went for the sushi deluxe to split and, coupled with the ramen, the dinner left us with just enough space for another round of sake before we hit the road.
Koppualso offers sake, Japanese whiskey, and yummy desserts.
Word on the street is there’s a new location slated to open soon in Chiado.
