If you judge a Mexican spot by its salsa, this one falls short. If you judge it by its chalupas, just go somewhere else. Decorated with traditional masks and posters from over-the-top Mexican wrestlers, this “modern Mexican” spot has a great atmosphere, but not the authentic flavors you might be looking for. If you’re there to drink, however, they do serve decent enough margaritas. Our advice is to go around the corner to Mez Cais, which operates out of the same kitchen, but somehow does Mexican the way it should be done.
