Lisbon is part of a global project on gathering real-time data on noise, air quality, traffic and more.
Starting next month, sensors from 80 locations around the city will deliver data on temperature, humidity, wind, as well as air pollutants, noise and traffic count by vehicle class to the city as well as third parties, writes Cities Today.
The $350,000 project is being funded through the city budget and the Sharing Cities Programme, launched in 2016 to assess urban challenges. Lisbon is a “lighthouse city” for the program, along with London and Milan.
