The charm of this restaurant isn’t just due to the cozy travessa with outdoor seating right in the street, nor the inviting wooden tables or the sprawling umbrella from which basket lights sway lazily in the breeze. No, the reason to go here is the menu: crafted lovingly by former catering guru Ana. Each day there’s a special meant to sweep you away to another time and place. We tried the bird-stuffed puff pastry wrap with its tender, flaky crust and its delectable quail and chicken stuffing. We went for the arroz do pato to see what the chef could do with a Portuguese staple and we were not disappointed. If we had been purists, however, we would have missed the chouriço that had been replaced with cashews. The attention to detail here is one of the myriad reasons to go. Taste something new, or re-try something old. Either way, it’s a win-win.
