“A search on [António Boaventura’s Lisbon Finals] shows that in July alone, there were 1,477 night-time flights, monitored between 11pm and 6:59am,” euronews writes. “Of these, according to the platform, 397 constituted violations of the period regulated by ANAC (the National Civil Aviation Authority), and at least 207 represent ‘critical violations’ under the site’s criteria, meaning flights with noise data above 98.9 decibels.”

By comparison, a jackhammer drill operating within about a meter produces 100 to 120 decibels and typically requires operators to wear hearing protection.
