More than 9,700 Portuguese-speaking immigrants apply for residence permit on new portal’s first day | Observador (PT)

The new portal lets immigrants to Portugal from the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries — Cape Verde, Brazil, Timor-Leste, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Príncipe, Angola and Mozambique — obtain Portuguese residency online automatically, without a physical visit to SEF (the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service).

Observador writes: “According to official data, there are around 150,000 immigrants from Portuguese-speaking countries in Portugal with pending cases at the SEF.”
