We don’t know if PRC President Xi Jinping went to O Norte da China on his recent visit to Lisbon, but we don’t care: this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Lisbon for several reasons. Here are three: hot and sour soup, dumplings, and the spring rolls (aka crepes chineses). At this 24-year-old establishment, all three are top of their class. But this place does more than dumplings and crepes right: from the nut-encrusted duck special to the better-than-anyone-can-expect standard rice and the shrimp served in a half-pineapple, not one dish tasted even a little below excellent here. They go the extra mile with the food, and with the service: it’s attentive, friendly, fast, and they warn you if something will take a long time (hint: that’s a good thing). Also, here’s a clue that you can trust their kitchen with your life: on our visit, there were three grandparent-grandchild combos eating here. Don’t miss this before you need a reservation for lunch.
