This well-designed place is the perfect choice for a romantic evening out or a celebration of a recent achievement. We were recently invited by the restaurant to enjoy the royal treatment, and we certainly got just that. Atlas was pampered with a cornucopia of Mediterranean-style food with elegant nods to traditional Portuguese fare. The result was excellent (my god, the polvo carpaccio!). The service really knows how to make you feel special, and their attention to detail is a perfect compliment to the food itself. A word of advice: do your best to show some restraint on the starter platter. The hummus, grilled peppers, black olive tapenade, cream cheese spread, and yummy queijo ovelha, will make it tough to exercise willpower, but try not to fill up and miss out on what’s to come. Go for the thinly-sliced flank steak with the side of truffle linguini after savoring the alheira sausage starter with the quail egg on top, or begin with the delicate puff pastry starter stuffed with goat cheese and topped with honey and walnuts. Whatever your choice, it won’t be forgotten anytime soon, and you’ll be working extra hard to hit another milestone you can celebrate there.
