Okay oysters and meh mussels in a cool space
Mussels? Oui. Huîtres? Non. Perhaps it’s just seasonal in regard to the latter, but both times Atlas has asked if they’re on the menu they haven’t been. Instead of scratching the oyster itch, we decided to try the mussels and the scallops, neither of which were particularly spectacular. What is noteworthy, however, is the space itself. It’s been designed with thought and care and being inside this restaurant feels borderline decadent. The staff was friendly and apologetic when they saw our long faces after our oyster request had been denied. Overall the restaurant isn’t something we would recommend seeking out, but if you’re in the area and you’ve got a hankering for a whiskey, you might as well pop on in.
