Portugal’s parliament struggles to elect speaker as far right shows teeth | Reuters

“In a compromise after several delays of the vote on Wednesday, the AD’s main Social Democratic Party (PSD) and the opposition Socialists agreed to submit a rotating speakership for the vote,” Reuters writes.

PSD’s Jose Pedro Aguiar Branco will take the helm for the first half of the four-year parliament, and then a Socialist will take over for the second half, and that’s if the current government lasts…

This should work out great.
