Portuguese citizens continue without visa-free travel to China | Portugal Resident

As of last week, China offers a visa exemption policy for stays of up to 15 days to 11 countries: Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands, according to Portugal Resident, which adds that this “puts Portugal at a marked disadvantage when it comes to access to the territory of the world’s second-largest economy.”

Portuguese ambassador in Beijing Paulo Nascimento is apparently baffled by China’s decision not to include Portugal on the list.
