Portuguese PM, who received first dose of suspended AstraZeneca vaccine: I’m on same boat as others waiting for second dose | Expresso (PT)

António Costa told journalists that Monday’s move to suspend the use of AstraZeneca vaccine was merely a “preventative” suspension and that a definitive answer would come by the end of the week.

“I’m with you, I also took the first dose of the vaccine. I’m eager for the second one,” he told the press. Costa added, “All the scientific evidence shows that the vaccine is safe and effective. I say this with the tranquility of having been vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.”

He is confident the matter will be clarified and urges everyone to be calm.
