The final trimester of 2020 saw the sales of 49,734 dwellings in Portugal, according to the Instituto Nacional de Estatísticas (INE – National Statistics Institute). This is a considerable increase compared to the previous trimester of the same year, which had 45,136 transactions.
This also marked an increase to the homes sold during the same trimester in 2019 (49,232), which is substantial considering we’re in the midst of a global pandemic.
While on whole-year terms 2020 saw a drop in home sales of 5.3% compared to the previous year, the number of home sales reported at the end of 2020 represents the highest quarterly performance in the last four years. Read more on Idealista (in Portuguese).
