Reflector #12: Arms And Sleepers – “Lisbon”

The second track “Lisbon," could be about any of the (at least) 17 places that bear the same name in all of the United States.

“Reflector” is a series Atlas correspondent David Soares has undertaken to bring to your attention songs by non-Portuguese bands inspired — in many cases, rather mysteriously — by the westernmost European nation.

Nostalgia For The Absolute of 2011 by Arms And Sleepers (Max Lewis, Mirza Ramic) may have taken its name from the work by the late philosopher George Steiner on modern irrationalities, but one can only assume. The second track, “Lisbon,” is probably about this Lisbon, but one can only assume as well. The ambient electronic music duo from New England is well-travelled and has toured throughout Europe, but for all I know, it could be about any of the (at least) 17 places that bear the same name in all of the United States. Well, it doesn’t matter, let’s just enjoy:
