Reflector #47: Heron Oblivion – “Faro”

Did this psychedelic rock group make it down to the Algarve? Unclear!

Heron Oblivion is a fuzzy psychedelic rock group from San Francisco made up of several members from other known groups. Meg Baird (Espers) on drums and vocals, Noel Von Harmonson (Comets On Fire, Sic Alps), Charlie Saufley on guitars, and Ethan Miller (Comets On fire) on bass. In 2016, they released their debut eponymous album, containing “Faro.” The lyrics evoke a seaside setting, but whether they are inspired by the Algarve’s capital, or if the band has ever been there, is uncertain. Not that it matters, we’ll just assume and enjoy the spin.
