Rove Bar

Mixing up the scene with gastronomy, art, and cocktails

€€€
Praça Luis Camões, 22, 1200-283 Lisboa
Chiado
Tue – Sat, 18h – 1h

This cocktail bar on the first floor of the fabulous Le Consulat building on Praça de Camões is a feast for the eyes and the imagination with a menu of innovative cocktails that are just as cleverly mixed as their concept: “The intersection between urban surf culture, gastronomy, and art.” Though the cocktails that Atlas ordered were as heavily crafted as Rove’s Instagram feed, we weren’t sure the price tag matched the experience. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the spread of interesting nibbles from the small bites menu, which included a herring dish that was a delicious mix of fresh ingredients that left us ready for seconds. It should be said that with each food order, you’ll be in for a story of how the dish was made in-house, so if you’re short on time, ask for the abridged version unless you’ve got a penchant for discussing pickling and curing processes at length, which, let’s face it, most of us do. Go for the scenery, the view, the VIP treatment, and the artistic Insta snaps, but don’t expect your head to explode from the concoction in your cup.
