Sajna is one of those quiet Lisbon gems that rewards curiosity. This understated spot serves Ethiopian and Lebanese dishes with heart and soul. Everything is cooked to order, which means you get to see, smell, and anticipate your dinner in real time.

We zeroed in on the Ethiopian menu and weren’t disappointed. The injera (a spongy sourdough flatbread made from teff flour) was perfect for scooping up dreamy stewed lentils, deeply spiced key wot (minced beef), and impossibly tender feyell sega (goat stew). It’s real-deal comfort food with real-deal flavors. The owner even showed us the imported teff flour, which costs a pretty penny to import from Ethiopia.

The service is lovely, the portions generous, and the prices reasonable. Sajna may not be flashy, but it’s doing everything right. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.
