Descend the stairs, suspend disbelief, drink something that shouldn’t work, but does.

Lisbon has no shortage of speakeasy-style bars, but the Secret Poets Society actually earns the secrecy. You enter through what appears, by day, to be a perfectly innocent wine-tasting room and pastry shop, then descend a spiral staircase into a low-lit basement where cocktails are named after poems and served with quiet confidence.
The menu is a dare. Mushroom, smoke, bitterness, things that feel wrong on paper but behave beautifully in the glass. The drinks are precise, layered, and made by someone who knows exactly what they’re doing. Sit at the bar or cluster in a corner and get ready for a cocktail with a story that deepens the experience without tipping into performance.
Lucas, the mixologist in residence, is knowledgeable, generous, and refreshingly free of ego. He’ll happily guide you, explain, or improvise if the mood strikes — and it often does.
Unshowy, original, and genuinely memorable. Come for the poetry, stay for the drinks, return because you can’t quite stop thinking about it…just like a truly good poem.
