A welcomed addition to an otherwise unremarkable food court

Serra da Estrela restaurant stands out in the Amoreiras food court (don’t judge us, we came to see Poor Things!) as one of the few places with decent decor and decent prices, a far cry from the burrito stalls and burger joints nearby. This appropriately-priced alternative to food court-ing is cozy without being pretentious and has a menu and wine list to match.
However, the weight staff leaves much to be desired. They’re friendly and helpful enough, but on our visit decided to stock a bookshelf situated directly above our heads with fresh bottles of En Costa de Estrela wine (the half bottles of which we decided to try so that it could help move the service along).
And we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time.
Unfazed, we went for the chanfana (goat) stew and the polvo a lagareiro (octopus) to see how the kitchen handled the traditional menu, and we weren’t disappointed. We had to eat rather quickly to make our showtime at the cinema, which was s shame as the portions were large, delicious, and meant to be savored. The food was fresh and prepared with care, and when the bill came, it seemed like we had made the right choice. Not a bad spot to check out if you’re confined to a food court. And we made our showtime with moments to spare.
