Spain Removes New Land Border Restrictions

Spain has rolled back new restrictions that required a negative PCR test to cross the Spanish / Portuguese land border and apologized for the confusion, according to Reuters. This comes after Portugal immediately condemned the new restrictions when they were announced on Monday.

Since reopening on May 1, neither country had required a test when crossing the land border until the announcement by Spain this Monday. And, with this almost immediate repeal, that is the situation we will return to.

The Spanish government spokeswoman Maria Jesus Montero said: “No additional test will be required, no additional protocols beyond those already in place,” according to Reuters.
