Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated the world over, and Lisbon is no different, with parties, parades, and pints to be had all over the city.
Originally a feast day for Saint Patrick, a patron saint of Ireland, March 17 is now a general celebration of Irish heritage and culture. This year, Paddy’s Day falls on a Monday, but that just means there’s a whole weekend of festivities to get you in the mood.

Lisbon’s very own Gaelic football team, LX Celtiberos, will be playing a St. Patrick’s Day home tournament against Glynn Barnstown. The matches will take place at INATEL de Alvalade, a sports complex in the city.
Alternative St. Patrick’s Day Party | €10 + |
The place to be on Saturday night, this alternative St. Patrick’s Day party will run from 20h00 until late at Arroz Estúdios in Beato, Lisbon.
There will be live music, DJs, and art by performers and arists from Ireland, Portugal, and beyond. This Paddy’s Day festa is hosted by Garden Collective, originally from Cork, Ireland, and will serve up the loveliest lineup in Lisbon.

O’Gilíns Irish Pub | Free |
O’Gilíns is the oldest Irish pub in Lisbon and has live traditional Irish music every week of the year. For St. Patrick’s Day, they crank it up a notch, with Guinness taps spilling out onto the streets of Cais do Sodré and revelers lining the streets.
Open from midday until 2 am, there will be live music at 17h30 with David Personne and at 21h30 with Melting Pot.

Jameson’s St. Patrick’s Day Arraial | €25 + |
For the eighth year, Jameson will host a St. Patrick’s Day Arraial in Lisbon. This year it will take place at Pavilhão Carlos Lopes in Parque Eduardo VII. The first confirmed artist is the Portuguese-Cape Verdean artist EU.CLIDES, who plays hip-hop, gospel, electronica, and more.

Guinness St. Patrick’s Day parade | Free | Unconfirmed |
Last year saw the first Saint Patrick’s Day parade in Lisbon. It was organized by Guinness and marched down Avenida da Liberdade to Praça do Comércio. It included 10 bands from Spain and Portugal, totaling around 200 musicians.
While still unconfirmed, the 2025 parade is rumoured to be taking place on Saturday, March 22 this year, following the same route.
