A charming local lunch spot with a Parisian café feel at a fraction of the price
This is Campo Ourique’s answer to a French sidewalk café, where outside tables are arranged with chairs facing out towards the street so patrons can watch the world go by on their lunch break. It’s a traditional pastelaria to be sure, it’s just bigger and more grand than your average neighborhood coffee shop. The staff is quick to greet you and grab your order, the food is delivered to you promptly and well prepared, and the portions (half dose and full dose) are just as advertised. Go for the pataniscas served with a Russian salad, or try the salmon filet with steamed veggies. Save room for something sweet from the glass case and a piping hot bica and you’ll have had the full experience, and likely for a more than fair price.
