First it was Primavera Sound. Then Rock in Rio. Then NOS Alive and MEO Mares. And eventually, SBSR.
All of Portugal’s big music festivals, one by one, postponed their dates for the second year in a row due to COVID.
Only LISB-ON was left standing: the youngest, but one of the locals’ favorites.
We’re sad to bring you the news that LISB-ON, too, has been moved to 2022, as of Tuesday.
“The need to protect public health, the paralysis of the cultural and creative sectors, and others essential to the organization of these kinds of events, both in Portugal and the world, made it impossible to secure the necessary conditions for the festival to take place in 2021,” the organizers say. “Like other music and cultural agents affected by this scenario of uncertainty, we’ve chosen to prioritize the good health of our Sound Garden and its gardeners.”
As with most other festivals, LISB-ON will honor 2021 tickets for the 2022 dates, now set for Sept. 2-4.
Refund requests, however, are only being accepted until June 30.
