With yummy cheesy nachos and on-point margaritas, this flagship of three local Tex-Mex joints is a good shout.

For comfort food in the form of Tex-Mex favorites, this small local chain of restaurants delivers. Aside from the signature fresh guacamole, the appetizers include four different types of nachos, stuffed jalapeños, chili, and more, while mains run from soft and hard-shell tacos, to fajitas, chimichangas, and burritos. There are a limited number of vegetarian and pescatarian options, but all of them are uninventive.
The best part? The prices are reasonable, the portions are big, and there’s an “all-day happy hour” on several cocktails, including the classic margarita, caipirinhas, and more.
The restaurant is spacious, well-staffed, and well-decorated, and makes for a great meet-up spot for both large and small groups of amigos to lay a Mex-tastic foundation before diving into nightlife in Bairro Alto (or Alcântara, or Costa da Caparica).
