Three people commit suicide every day in Portugal | Rádio Notícias (PT)

Campanha Para a Prevenção do Suicídio (Suicide Prevention Campaign) launched a website six months ago to raise awareness on the issue in Portugal.

The coordinator of the campaign, psychiatrist Paulo Barbosa, says that three people commit suicide everyday and that they have a clearly defined profile.

He says “It predominantly occurs among older people from rural areas, and the Alentejo area has twice the suicide rate compared to the rest of the country.”
