What’s on for Halloween in Lisbon in 2025

Whether you want to be terrified, tattooed, or just tipsy, here’s where to haunt this Halloween season.

by Atlas Lisboa’s Department of Questionable Costume Choices and Wine-Fueled Decision-Making

It’s that time of year again when Lisbon trades linen for latex, when pumpkins are somehow scarier than the rent, and when half the city decides that fake blood is a fashion statement. From highbrow opera to low-brow karaoke and everything undead in between, Lisbon’s got your Halloween sorted.

Oct 14–25 | MUSICAL PERFORMANCE | The Phantom of the Opera | Campo Pequeno | from €25

He’s back — the man, the myth, the mask. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera returns to Lisbon to remind us that stalking someone through an opera house can, apparently, still be romantic if you sing about it. Expect soaring vocals, chandeliers, and enough drama to fill an entire therapy conference. Click here to get tickets.

Oct 17–26 | TATTOO FESTIVAL | Unconvention Lisboa | Rua Maria 10B | Arroios

Lisbon’s most inked-up festival returns, and it’s not your auntie’s craft fair. Unconvention brings together tattoo artists, illustrators, and the beautifully weird from around the world for 10 days of body art, workshops, and general rebellion. What a better way to enter kick off the Halloween season than with an unexpected splash of color? Check out the program here.

to Jan 12 | SCULPTURE EXHIBIT | Francisco Trêpa: “Ball of the Bugalhos” | Engawa Space, Gulbenkian | FREE

A sculpture exhibition inspired by bugs that make trees grow weird lumps? Yes, please. Francisco Trêpa turns the microscopic horror of parasitic wasps into art, and somehow makes it beautiful. Think Predator meets Alien, but with curatorial intent. A must-see for anyone who’s ever said, “That’s kind of gross, I love it.” More info here.

Oct 26 | Symphonic Halloween Concert | CCB | 17h | €17 – 35

Witches, devils, and dramatic crescendos inspire the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra and TNSC Choir in this Halloween concert that’s more spine-tingling than any Netflix jump scare. Expect Dvořák, Saint-Saëns, Verdi, and enough baroque bangers to raise the dead. Capes optional, but encouraged. Read more here.

Oct 29 | Unmasked: Spooky Storytelling | Fábrica Braço de Prata | 19h30 | FREE

Ghosts? Secrets? Existential dread? Welcome to Unmasked, a storytelling night where Lisbon’s bravest (and most emotionally available) souls share true tales of revelation and regret. No notes, no scripts, just 7 – 10 minutes of raw humanity and awkward laughter. Bring your own courage and maybe a flask. Event info here.

Oct 30 | Haunted Mailbox | Portuguese Communications Foundation | 19h | FREE (registration required)

Finally, an excuse to visit a post office. This family-friendly mystery night turns the Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações into a haunted house of clues, codes, and slightly creepy correspondence. Expect educational fun with a twist of terror. This event tops out at 25 people, so move fast. Register here.

Oct 31 | Estrela Assustadora | Academia da Estrela Pavilion | 19h | FREE

A wholesome family fright night from the folks at the Estrela Parish Council. Expect Halloween-themed bouncy castles, costumes, food trucks, and possibly your neighbor dressed as a vampire gnawing on a pastel de nata. Good clean family fun (and they do serve wine). Details here.

Oct 31 | Spooky Karaoke | Lisbon Art Stay Aparthotel | 19h30 | FREE

Ever wanted to see Dracula sing Beyoncé? This is your moment. Hosted by professional singer Inês Monstro (yes, that’s her real name), Lisbon’s most unhinged karaoke night returns with themed cocktails, costumes, and plenty of off-key horror. It’s free, but your dignity will cost extra.
More info here.

Oct 31 | Ballroom Drag Party: Halloween Vogue | Drama Bar | 19h30 | €11

Come for drag queens, ballroom legends, DJs, MCs, and a crowd that understands the assignment. Whoever said glamour and gore don’t go hand-in-hand? All we know is, you’d better bring your costume A-game to this one. Get tickets here.

Oct 31 | Brunch Electronik Halloween @ Pavilhão Carlos Lopes | 22h | €25 – 30

If your idea of “spiritual awakening” involves bass drops and strobe lights, Brunch Electronik has you covered. Expect Indira Paganotto, Chris Liebing B2B Luke Slater, and the kind of techno that raises the dead (temporarily). Costumes encouraged, re-entry forbidden, regrets guaranteed. Grab tickets here.

Oct 31 | Halloween United: Moonspell + Guests | Lisboa Ao Vivo | 20h30 | €35

Portugal’s favorite vampires, Moonspell, return from tour to reclaim their Halloween throne with a 30th-anniversary show that promises blood, riffs, and nostalgia. Joined by Sweden’s Dark Tranquility and local legends Sinistro, this is one for the goth history books. Black eyeliner mandatory. Get tickets.

Oct 31 | City of Dance & Halloween Bash | Those Who Dance | 21h & 23h | FREE (accepting donations)

Start the night off as a voyeur ogling dancers possessed by the spirit of George Balanchine and a bottle of mezcal in their performance of City of Dance. Next, at 23h, join a full-scale improvisation experiment where Lisbon’s dance community becomes one big, pulsating organism (don’t overthink it). Costumes are optional, but commitment to the moment is not. FYI: phones on the dancefloor are banned, so take that as you will (wink). All proceeds go toward building a new floating dance floor —because gravity is overrated at this “multidisciplinary warehouse project.” Click here to check out the flyer.

Oct 31 & Nov 1 | Haunted Factory | Fábrica da Pólvora, Barcarena | 90 min | €28 | 18+

Lisbon’s creepiest immersive theater returns to prove that your survival instincts are weaker than your curiosity. Navigate underground galleries, dodge specters, and try not to die (dramatically). Inspired by real historical horrors, this one’s not for the faint of heart or the easily lost. Read the (mandatory) terrifying fine print here.
